Una Canción de Amor

This painting was inspired by the Spanish poet Jorge Manrique's "Dos Canciones" and my own life. The poem inserted into the heart of the painting is in Spanish. Translated it reads: "With a painful care, discontent, sorrow and pain, I depart, a sad lover, forsaken by all my loves, by my loves, but not by love. And my own heart, enemy of what my heart desires, neither finds life nor dies, nor remains, nor goes with me; without fortune, wretched, without comfort, without favor, I depart, a sad lover, forsaken by all my loves, by my loves, but not by love."
